Water Wars

This was my first project as a UX/UI designer. Yes, it was a school project!
In 'Water Wars' I aimed to address one of the world's significant health issues: a sedentary lifestyle.

According to the WHO, 25% of the world's population lacks physical activity. Having a sedentary lifestyle increases the likelihood of suffering from diseases such as cancer, diabetes, or heart problems.
In addition to health risks, the lack of physical activity in the population incurs a significant cost for countries. In Spain, it was estimated that sedentary behavior cost 1.545 billion euros in 2017.

During the research for this project, workers between the ages of 25 and 40 were interviewed, asking about their reasons for engaging in sports and, more importantly, for not doing sports. Thanks to their responses, I discovered that despite being aware of the importance and positive impact on health of maintaining an active lifestyle, those who did not practice any sport justified it with a lack of motivation and interest in sports.

This discovery led me to pose the following question: How to encourage people who don't like sports to engage in physical activity? The answer was not simple, but upon finding it, it became quite obvious. Physical activity doesn't have to be a traditional sport.‍The result was the creation of Water Wars, a game in which, through physical activity, levels and chapters of a fascinating story are unlocked. In this story, you fight to survive in a world where clean water is scarce and controlled by powerful individuals.
